"An Inconvenient Truth" Documentary

In light of the current Anglican Diocesan Stewardship Development Initiative, and overall environmental concerns, I highly recommend that before the summer "popcorn" movies dominate movie theatres, that you see An Inconvenient Truth , the documentary on global warming.

Regardless of your politics, you must see this film.

The world must see this film.

Independent, and Important, films such as this one have the risk of being knocked out of movie theatres ... and soon.

So, to help you out, go to http://ottawa.film-can.com/cgi-bin/main/mview.cgi?FID=INC-9 for theatres and show times in the Ottawa-area.

At most theatres, the most affordable tickets are for Tuesday screenings, at anytime of the day.

It's also my understanding that 5% of all ticket sales go to an environmental charity.

There's also a recently published book of the same name authored by Al Gore, which I hope the new store at St. Paul U will have when it is set-up in a couple of months.

In the meantime, Canterbury House on Hinton Ave can order this book for you now, as a Special Order.

An Inconvenient Truth -

Contributor(s): Gore, Al (Author), Gore, Albert , Jr (Author)

ISBN: 1594865671 EAN: 9781594865671

Publisher: Rodale Press

Binding: Paperback, $28.95 Cdn plus GST

Pub Date: May 2006

Annotation: Published to tie in to a documentary film of the same name, "An Inconvenient Truth" is Gore's battle cry about what needs to be done about global warming. 75 illustrations. (Environmental Studies)

The Future of Canterbury House

Dear Friends:

Canterbury House Book Store has new life, and the store will be relocating to St. Paul University, merging with their existing book store sometime during late summer/early Fall.

Details and a time line are being worked out.

While there is sadness, please be assured that whatever you value about Canterbury House Book Store will be respected and built upon as a new book store ethos is created at the University.

No doubt you may have questions, comments, or concerns, and these are welcomed, and will be answered to the best of our ability.

Special Orders to Canterbury House are still welcomed, as this is part of our valued service.

Please continue to enquire regarding price and availability, and kindly consider that part of the "availability" question raises new issues of "where" and "when".

Many details are being worked out as we speak, and will be relayed ASAP.

A Relocation Sale is planned at 97 Hinton Avenue North, and it will begin soon, running for several weeks.

Details will follow shortly.

Special Orders and reserved items will not be eligible for discounts from our upcoming Relocation Sale.

Please relay this information to those you know, as we have friends in many different places.

Thanks also to our many patrons at the Stewardship Conference.

For the Stewardship Conference, a lengthy bibliography was prepared by Canterbury House - with the list posted here for those interested - reflecting a variety of denominational (and theological) perspectives, and did not include classic stewardship titles, as the intention of this particular bibliography was to highlight scholarship published within the past 2 or 3 years only.
